AWC Staff Services are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our client’s dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing project costs, ensuring that all financial aspects of construction projects are meticulously monitored and controlled. This position requires a strong understanding of cost control measures and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
Responsibilities
- You’ll be responsible for assisting the programme Estimating team to ensure estimates align to scope and make allowance for risks and opportunities. You will work closely with the Procurement team, Construction team and Project team in preparing Subcontracts and procurement strategies and ensuring they reflect agreed scope. You will produce accurate live forecasting, considering the programme and reporting in accordance with the respective work breakdown structure / cost breakdown structure.
- You will ensure that all project team members (including site staff) understand the contractual arrangements, in order to satisfy Client & Partner organisation requirements. You will also ensure that proper records are kept & maintained so financial information for audits and cost assurance is readily available. You will need to liaise with the Project team to ensure any Contractual notifications required are issued in accordance with the Contract.
Qualifications
- A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the water/utilities sector.
- Strong understanding of cost control principles and practices.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficient in using quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Membership or working towards membership in a recognised professional body (e.g., RICS) is advantageous.
