SCO 91 - Bacton

AWC Staff Services are currently seeking an experienced SCO91 operative to support operations on a live gas terminal. This is a safety-critical role and only candidates with proven gas and heavy civils experience will be considered.

The successful candidate will be confident working in a high-risk, tightly controlled environment and fully understand the importance of compliance, communication, and safe systems of work.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting day-to-day operational activities within a live gas terminal
• Working closely with site management, gas engineers, and civils teams to ensure works are carried out safely and efficiently
• Assisting with gas and civils operations in line with approved RAMS and permits
• Maintaining strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations
• Monitoring work areas and reporting hazards, near misses, or unsafe conditions immediately
• Ensuring work areas are kept clean, controlled, and compliant at all times
• Accurately completing site documentation, permits, and reports
• Representing the company professionally while working under client and terminal operator requirements

Essential Requirements

• Strong previous experience in gas and civils environments
• Experience working on or around live gas assets / gas terminals
• Valid SCO91 certification
• Solid understanding of permit-to-work systems and site controls
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and work safely under supervision
• Excellent awareness of safety, risk, and compliance
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a disciplined site team

Desirable

• Previous experience on COMAH or high-risk industrial sites
• Additional safety or gas-related certifications
• Flexible approach to working hours and site requirements
