AWC Staff Services are looking for a Site Manager on behalf of their client, who is working within an Electrical Transmission division. Who design, build and commission substations at voltages up to and including 400kV. Teams construct and maintain transmission lines and substations, ensuring the efficient and reliable delivery of electricity.   
 

What will you be doing?

  • Manage daily SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, Quality) tasks for staff and subcontractors on projects.
  • Report and investigate SHEQ incidents as per internal and client procedures.
  • Develop and maintain project documents (e.g., Construction Phase Plans, Quality Plans, Emergency Plans). Create and check Method Statements, Work Instructions, and Risk Assessments.
  • Provide technical support and productivity guidelines for tenders.
  • Support the Design department on technical construction aspects.
  • Prepare material requirements for the Procurement department.
  • Manage supervisory resources (e.g., Engineers, General Foremen) and brief them on their duties.
  • Plan and manage resources (Labour, Plant, Materials) for efficient project completion.
  • Monitor project progress and report to the Project Manager/Planner.
  • Supervise subcontractors (e.g., scaffolding, roadways, civils, security).
  • Manage and support reporting staff, including time sheets and expenses.
  • Comply with OHSAS 18001, ISO9001, and ISO 14001 standards.
  • Provide Wayleaves with necessary information for site activities.
  • Manage client-specific safety documentation (e.g., Permits, Certificates).
  • Chair weekly site meetings with staff and subcontractors.

What you’ll bring;

Extensive knowledge within the electricity transmission industry.

  • Competency in 132kV to 400kV projects Overhead line projects
  • Knowledge of current health, safety, and environmental legislation.
  • Ability to work within budget and to program timescales.
  • Ability to work within a team environment, including clients, designers, H&S advisers, site staff, quantity surveyors, and estimators.
  • Suitable level of construction qualification or experience in delivering OHL projects.
  • TWC Qualification, NEBOSH Construction, Environmental Qualifications, HSG47 are desirable
